Golden Retriever Training

A Golden Retriever is one of the most popular breeds of dogs and for good reasons. They are typically sweet, loving and willing to join you in any adventure or day to day task. A Golden can be one of the best dogs that you have ever owned, but only if you choose wisely and are willing to put in the effort required to train your Golden Retriever.

Unfortunately, they are not born trained. In fact the opposite is quite true. Golden Retrievers go at life full tilt, ready to take on any challenge. In short they can be a hand full. But that is also part of their charm.

With that said, just be aware that Golden Retrievers are not for everyone. They are large active dogs that can find trouble fast. Sometimes it seems that they would rather eat your furniture or belongings than anything else. But that is where Golden Retriever training comes into play.

But don't let that put you off of Goldens because luckily, Golden Retrievers respond very well to training. That is why they are used as; hunting dogs, search and rescue dogs, service and therapy dogs and more. They can be trained to do most anything that is within their physical ability. Goldens routinely excel at almost any dog activity that you can imagine.

With time and effort on your part, your Golden Retriever can be trained to be the perfect pet for your home. They regularly get along well with children, strangers and other dogs. These big clowns have the ability to bring a smile to just about anyone. They are major extroverts and love to work a crowd, which is why they have remained so popular for so long.

So if you feel that a Golden Retriever is the dog for you, congratulations. You probably could not have made a better choice. With a bit of effort at Golden retriever training, you will end up with one of the best behaved and loving breeds of dogs.
